Fjord Bakehouse is an artisan bakery specializing in sourdough bread and American/Norwegian pastries. The bakery is popular in the local area and has become a weekly tradition for many families. People also travel far distances to visit the bakery, as it has acquired a good reputation for its quality and uniqueness. Over its nearly seven-year history, Fjord Bakehouse has become a part of the fabric of the local community, and with this sale, we hope the tradition will continue for years to come.
Location
Fjord Bakehouse is housed in the historic Arvesen Landhandel building (interior remodeled 2019) in Lervik. It is positioned directly across from Lervik Camping and has a direct view of the water. Limited parking is available on site. The Arvesen building is currently for sale, so there is a potential to own both the bakery and the building!
Advantages and Opportunites
If run as an owner-operated (family-owned) business, the bakery has a very high profit margin (circa 50%) with solid growth potential. The business makes a solid living for a family, and it is only open 5.5- 6 months a year. The future owner continue with a seasonal schedule as is, or run throughout the year for a more significant profit. We estimate that if the bakery were run Fri-Sun during the shutdown period (September 15-March 15), the business owner would gain 350,000-400,000 extra profit each year, potentially bringing the total profit to around 1.3 Million Kr.
There have been two substantial offers to expand the bakery to other areas of Fredrikstad, of which the current owner was not interested. Economy and Valuation
